We didn't start with a product. We started with questions.

Before GeckoBone was a calcium company, it was a group of leopard gecko owners answering the same questions over and over in forums, Reddit threads, and late-night DMs.

How do you know if your gecko needs D3?

"How often do I dust crickets?" "Do I need calcium with D3 or without?" "Why is my gecko shaking?" "Is this MBD?" "Can my gecko overdose on calcium?"

These questions get asked thousands of times a month across r/leopardgeckos, reptile forums, and Facebook groups. And the answers? Conflicting. Gatekeepy. Or worse — some version of "just Google it."

So we started writing guides. Clear ones. Ones that didn't assume you had a biology degree or five years of reptile experience. We wrote about dusting schedules. About D3. About calcium dish setup. About the difference between MBD and calcium overdose — a distinction that literally saves geckos' lives.

The guides took off. People shared them. People bookmarked them. People sent us messages saying "this is the first thing that made sense." And in almost every conversation, the same frustration came up: the calcium powder itself was part of the problem.

The calcium was making things harder, not easier

Go look at Amazon reviews for reptile calcium powders. You'll find the same complaints over and over:

Generic powders with generic instructions, sold in containers that fail before you even open them. And the worst part? New gecko parents — the ones who need the most clarity — are the ones getting the worst experience.

So we made our own. Not because we wanted to be a "supplement brand." Because we wanted new gecko parents to have one less thing to worry about.

What we believe

Guides first, products second. Our free care guides exist because the best calcium in the world means nothing if you don't know how to use it. We'd rather you read our guides and buy someone else's calcium than buy ours and use it wrong. (We think you'll like ours better, though.)

One species at a time. We don't make "reptile products." We make leopard gecko products. When we expand, we'll do it the same way — learn the community, write the guides, then build what's actually needed.

No gatekeeping. Every reptile community has that person who makes new owners feel stupid for asking basic questions. We're the opposite of that person. There are no dumb questions when your gecko's health is on the line.

Calcium is the trust entry point, not the profit center. We're building a community that new leopard gecko owners can rely on for years. The Starter Kit is where that relationship begins. The subscription refills, the multivitamins (coming soon), the gut-loading guides — those come later, once you trust us.

Who's behind this?

We're reptile people. We've spent years in forums, subreddits, and exotic vet offices learning what leopard geckos actually need. We're not a giant pet conglomerate. We're a small team that believes clear information and species-specific products can actually prevent the #1 killer of captive leopard geckos: metabolic bone disease caused by confusion.

If you've ever Googled "leopard gecko calcium" at 2 AM because your gecko was acting strange and you didn't know what to do — we built this for you.

We're launching the Starter Kit soon. Want to know when?
